How a Motorcycle Engine Works?
Mar 29, 2023
A motorcycle engine works in the same way as a car engine. A motorcycle engine uses an internal combustion engine, which is an engine that generates power by burning fuel. Internal combustion engines can be divided into two categories according to the way they work: four-stroke engines and two-stroke engines.

4 Stroke motorcycle engine consists of four steps: intake, compression, combustion, and exhaust. First, the piston sucks in air and fuel on its downstroke, which is the intake phase; then, the piston compresses the gas on its upstroke, which is the compression phase; next, as the piston reaches its apex, the spark plug fires, burning the mixture Release energy, which is the combustion phase; finally, when the piston descends, the exhaust gas is discharged from the exhaust valve, which is the exhaust phase. After the four steps are completed, the engine can work in a continuous cycle.

2 Stroke motorcycle engine works differently than a four-stroke engine, it has only two steps: compression and combustion-exhaust. Two-stroke engine completes one working cycle in each piston stroke, which makes its working efficiency higher than four-stroke engine, but the exhaust pollution it emits is also higher.

The above is a brief introduction to the working method of motorcycle internal combustion engines. These two engines have their own advantages and disadvantages. Consumers can choose the engine type that suits them according to their actual needs.
